Overview
Located in the East Raleigh/South Park National Register Historic District, Davie Street Presbyterian Church is home to a vibrant community that has a rich history dating back to the mid-1800s.
HH Architecture and our consultant team designed an addition and renovation of the existing sanctuary that blends seamlessly into the historic neighborhood and respects the character of the original structure. The new addition connects to the original building with minimal impact while respecting the scale of the existing church and the surrounding urban context. The exterior brick was purposefully selected not to be identical, but to serve as a contemporary echo of the original motif.
The interior renovation features large, open areas accommodated by clear span structures providing ample space for community events & fellowship. Since 2006, HH Architecture has worked with Church leadership to make this project possible. Over a decade later, the result is a building designed for the community that maintains the presence of this historic structure as a prominent cornerstone of the downtown Raleigh Community.
