New Classroom Buildings

Overview

With high ceilings and continuous natural light, these new classroom buildings are designed for students to seamlessly enjoy indoor and outdoor learning environments.

HH Architecture provided design services for two new classroom buildings at Oak City Academy at their newly developed campus in Garner, NC. The buildings are approximately 5,000 SF each with classrooms and support spaces.

During the initial planning phase, we worked closely with the client to present options that would maximize outdoor space between buildings to blend and enhance indoor and outdoor learning environments. The final design maximizes natural light with a shed roof, bringing in continuous natural light. By containing the HVAC systems to the back of the building, it allows for a higher ceiling that is exposed for a more open, inviting space.
