The new facility will be approximately 90,000 square feet to accommodate administrative functions as well as research, development, and reliable laboratory spaces. It will also include maker spaces and instrument testing spaces that support prototype and product development.
The facility will consolidate its research and development, pilot line, reliability laboratories, and administrative functions under one roof improving laboratory adjacencies, flows, and increasing efficiencies across their operations. Analyzing existing processes and flows, along with surveying and documentation of laboratory equipment was part of the project process. Programming and test fits were developed to evaluate initial program efforts.
Administrative and public areas are designed to foster collaboration while showcasing innovative applications of LED technology. The design provides efficient laboratory layouts within an existing building shell as part of a life science adaptive-reuse redevelopment.
