As the President, CEO, and business development leader of HH Architecture, Kristen works to build relationships within her community and throughout North Carolina. She is committed to providing opportunities not only to her employees but also by mentoring students and future community leaders. Kristen currently serves on the Greater Raleigh Chamber Executive Committee, the Governor’s Council on Historically Underutilized Businesses, as well as the Board of Directors for the Girl Scouts of North Carolina Coastal Pines. In 2011, Kristen was awarded the prestigious Marshall Memorial Fellowship by the German Marshall Fund of the United States and the Zhi-Xing China Eisenhower Fellowship in 2016, where she forged global connections with Eisenhower Fellows all over the world.
Kristen received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from North Carolina State University. Her passion for sustainable and client-focused design is a driving force in HH Architecture’s continued growth and success.
Principal, Director of Operations
As Principal and Director of Operations, Dave leads our team in delivering excellent work to our valued clients. He ensures that the production standards of HH Architecture’s designs are of the highest quality. Throughout his twenty-plus years of experience, Dave has demonstrated exceptional commitment to client needs as well as an extensive understanding of architectural detailing. He believes that the most rewarding part of what we do is spending time listening, watching, and working collaboratively with our clients and then seeing their excitement as their vision comes alive.
Dave is a member of the Greater Raleigh Chamber Board of Advisors, the Johnston Community College Circle of Friends, the Midtown Raleigh Alliance, and USGBC. He received his Bachelor of Environmental Design from NC State University.
Principal, Director of Design
As Principal and Director of Design for HH Architecture, Siler leads our firm through the discovery process to find and deliver elegant solutions to our diverse and talented clients. Throughout the design and construction process, he consistently engages our clients in a collaborative design process tailored to their needs to help them do what they do every day even better. In his tenure at HH Architecture, Siler has worked on many of our landmark projects and contributed to the growth and success of the firm. He works to engage our talented staff and foster a strong design culture within our studio. Siler is actively involved in the American Institute of Architects, the Urban Land Institute, the Society of College and University Planning, and has participated as a judge for NC State University’s Graduate Student Research Symposium. He is passionate about our work with the Ronald McDonald Houses of North Carolina and is an annual volunteer for the Day of Hope and Happiness at the NC State Fair. Siler received his Masters of Architecture and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from NC State University’s College of Design.
Laura received her Master of Architecture from The City College of New York and a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Florida State University. She enjoys traveling, painting, biking, and exploring new restaurants. Laura is interested in the problem-solving aspect of architecture and sees every project as a new design challenge. She is adept at producing technical drawings and 3d renderings. A few of her favorite projects to work on have been the Herman Park Recreation Center for the City of Goldsboro and the NC State Farmers Market Master Plan.
Chief Financial Officer
Cody received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a concentration in Managerial Accounting from NC State University’s Poole College of Management. He is an avid movie fan and enjoys attending concerts and local trivia nights. He is an active member of CAI, the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, and was selected to participate in the 2019-2020 Leadership Raleigh program. As CFO, Cody oversees and coordinates all firm-wide financial operations and ensures they run efficiently and effectively. He also serves as the liaison between the firm, our design consultant teams, and our clients to negotiate agreements for successful projects. A few of his favorite projects to work on have been the Polar Bear Expansion and Renovation for the NC Zoological Park, the renovation of HH Architecture’s office building on Dresser Court, and the NCDA&CS Agricultural Sciences Center.
Andres grew up in Colombia and studied at North Carolina State University. He received his Bachelor of Environmental Design with a Minor in Landscape Architecture from the College of Design, and later received his Master of Architecture with a Graduate Certificate in City Design and a Graduate Certificate in Energy and Technology. Andres enjoys the schematic design and the design development process and is particularly interested in sustainable architecture and how design can lower the impact on our environment. When he’s not at work, Andres loves to play soccer and travel to new places with his wife.
Emily attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the College of DuPage. She is a LEED Green Associate and is involved in the Network of Executive Women in Hospitality (NEWH). Outside of the office, she enjoys hiking with her dogs, kayaking, painting, and embroidering. Emily is passionate about improving quality of life through design and is particularly interested in the positive effects design can have within our community.
Growing up in Virginia Beach, VA, Rachel enjoyed art class and craft projects and felt that the process of creating something new was very fulfilling. Her love for creativity led her into Architecture when she decided to attend school at Virginia Tech. With over 10 years in the industry, the process of taking a project from a simple sketch all the way into a fully realized building excites her. Rachel is passionate about environmental design and sustainability and believes the built environment can and should be part of the solution to big environmental challenges. In her free time, Rachel enjoys spending time outdoors through hiking, biking, and trips to the beach. Over the past few years, she’s also gotten into wheel-throwing ceramics and has been creating bowls and mugs!
Senior Interior Designer
Jessica received her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Virginia Tech. She received her NCIDQ certification in 2007 and is an active member of IIDA. She works to support interior design programs at local colleges and universities by participating as a guest judge for student work critiques and special projects. Jessica excels at creating space plans that not only give the client what they need for the everyday, but that is also inviting and comfortable for staff and visitors. She creates unique ways to express our client’s culture through mission-driven design and develops a collection of finishes for each project that tells a story. She works with architects to create interior environments that feed off the space, theme, client, and vision of the overall building design. A few of Jessica’s favorite projects to work on have been HH Architecture’s Dresser Court office renovation, the Johnston Community College Student Success Center, and the NCDA&CS Agricultural Sciences Center.
Senior Project Manager
James received his Bachelors of Science in Architecture from Georgia State Institute of Technology. He serves as the Treasurer of the Building Envelope Council Research Triangle, Task Force of AIA Triangle, and as the President of the Board of Directors for the Cary Park Property Owners Association. Jim brings over 25 years of experience to our firm. Within our studio, he is a leader in Building Information Modeling, Building Science, Construction Administration, Alternate Delivery Methods, Design Build, and Integrated Project Delivery. As Senior Project Manager, he works to solve design problems and deliver buildings that function well beyond the expectations of our clients.
Elizabeth received her Bachelor of Architecture from North Carolina State University’s College of Design. As an active member of the local design community, she joined the AIA Triangle Board in 2018 and is currently an AIA Triangle Board Member and is Secretary on the AIAT Board Executive Committee and serves as chair of the AIA Triangle Design Awards Task Force. She served six years on the Raleigh Historic Development Commission (RHDC) and is now serving on the RHDC Design Review Advisory Committee. Elizabeth is passionate about designing spaces that are thoughtful, compelling, and impactful. She brings over 25 years of design expertise to our team. As Senior Architect, she leads our architecture studio in creating meaningful and innovative spaces for our clients and our community.
Megan received her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tennessee and spent a semester abroad in Poland at the Politechnika Krakowska Architecture program. As a dog mom, Megan loves spending time with her rescue pups. She also enjoys yoga, sewing, gardening, and working on home renovation projects with her husband. As an Architect, Megan is interested in meeting all kinds of clients and using her skills to help them visualize the spaces they can create together.
Alyssa received her Masters in Architecture from NC State University’s College of Design. She enjoys rock climbing and gardening. She is interested in public space design and closely examines how buildings work with and for people. Alyssa provides crucial support to our design team through every phase of design and is an asset to our design team.
As Interior Designer, Leah has been in the industry for eight years and is involved in IIDA and Triangle Crew. She is also a LEED Accredited Professional. Growing up with a love for art, interior design appealed to her because it combined creativity with technical skills. She enjoys the balance that interior design requires between artistic creativity and strategic problem solving, and is excited by designing spaces that people can engage with. She believes that great interior design is both functional for the unique needs of the client, as well as beautiful. Outside of the office, Leah spends time baking, tackling home projects, and chasing her toddler around. She also has a love for travel and has visited 14 countries including Cuba.
Brittany attended the University of Maryland Baltimore County where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Media and Communication Studies with a Minor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. With a passion for design and creative marketing, she leads the strategic planning and execution of proposals, social media, branding, and creative best practices for communication. Brittany produces and plans strategic content that promotes HH Architecture’s brand identity and communicates our mission, vision, and values. She is interested in the constant evolution of marketing and enjoys finding ways to be creative and implement new ideas. Outside of the office, Brittany enjoys staying active, spending time outdoors, cooking, and spending time with family.
Andrea received her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from NC State University. She enjoys cooking and baking in her free time, is an avid reader, and British Television fan. She participates in multiple technical user groups and attends local events around the Triangle. She enjoys the ever-changing nature of technology, there is always something new to learn! Andrea keeps our systems and software up to date and secure. She helps our staff navigate through technical roadblocks, even if it is a user error.
Sean grew up in Nelspruit, South Africa, and Gaborone, Botswana before moving to the United States. With seven years of experience in architecture, his first foray into design began through painting which inspired him to learn about the buildings in his work. Sean is fascinated by the lasting impact that great design can bring to communities. With the recent severe drought striking his home country of South Africa, he has dedicated time towards researching sustainability and water conservation in the building industry. Outside of the office, Sean is an avid runner and teaches tennis during the summer.
Joevannah was born in New Jersey and raised in Norfolk, Virginia. When she was younger, she wanted to be an architect or an artist when she grew up. Interior design became a happy medium. As an interior designer with four years in the industry, she is passionate about creating strong concepts that articulate client brands and identities on a macro and micro level. Joevannah believes that interior design has a powerful effect on the well-being of communities and strives to make interiors more sustainable, accessible, and dynamic. Outside of the office, she enjoys beach trips, brunch, tennis, paint and sips, and vintage shopping. One fun fact about Joevannah is that she once won a wrapping paper competition and received over 40 rolls of wrapping paper of the print she designed.
Senior Business Advisor
As our Senior Business Advisor, Dave continues to provide valuable business advice and support. His experience and financial insight have contributed to HH Architecture’s long-term success. With over fifty years of corporate finance and general management experience, he is enjoying helping our firm as we continue to grow and be successful in the NC design community. Dave enjoys spending time with his 4 grandchildren, trying to improve his golf skills, supporting Habitat for Humanity & Saint Giles Presbyterian Church. Dave was the first official HH Architecture employee and is the secret to our success!
Jackson received his Bachelor of Architecture from NC State University’s College of Design where he also received his Bachelor of Environmental Design and Minor in Landscape Architecture. He is actively involved with the AIAS program Freedom by Design and has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. Jackson is a talented designer who is most interested in the Schematic Design phase of the design process, especially creating architectural visualizations such as 3D renderings, flythroughs, and VR. His favorite projects to work on at HH Architecture so far have been the San Lee Nature Education Center, the Maxwell Center and AIA Triangle Barkitecture.
Born and raised in Taipei, Audrey received her Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from National Taiwan University. During this time, she worked on the Ginkgo Bridge project in Xitou, which further cemented her love for design. She came to the United States in 2017 to continue her studies and later received her Master of Architecture from the University of Virginia in 2020. Throughout her career, Audrey has won several awards including the World Architecture Community Awards with the Safe House for Women and Children project from The Rajasthan Cities: Jaipur Studio, which also won The Studio Prize and The Sloan Award, at UVA. Audrey is particularly passionate about designing public works and the ways in which architectural design can inspire communities, influence interaction between people, and shape the future.
In her free time, Audrey enjoys playing board games, escape rooms, cooking, baking, and reading fantasy novels. She also loves trying out new restaurants with her husband and experiencing cuisines from different cultures.
Kerri received her Master of Fine Arts in Costume Technology from UNC Chapel Hill, giving her a keen eye for detail and time management. As a creative individual with a background in professional theatre, she thrives at making the “behind the scenes” work appear effortless. For over 20 years, Kerri has worked to positively elevate others so that they can excel in their individual roles, contributing to the overall success of the team.
Eric received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and his Masters in Architecture from North Carolina State University’s College of Design. In his free time, Eric enjoys playing hockey and spending time outside with his dog, Jake. He is most interested in practicing sustainable design, creating physical and digital models, and analyzing problem-solving through the design process. He appreciates the impact that architecture has on people’s lives through buildings and providing a creative job field.
Justin grew up in Baltimore County, Maryland, and studied at Morgan State University where he graduated with a degree in Architecture and Environmental Design. In his spare time, Justin enjoys photography and computers. He is also a licensed Drone Pilot. Justin’s favorite aspect of architecture is the visualization
Jess received her Bachelors Degree in Interior Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design. She is an allied member of ASID and is working towards her NCIDQ certification (two down, one to go!). In her free time, she enjoys gardening and home improvement projects. As an interior designer at HH Architecture, Jess has enjoyed working on the designs of the Johnston Community College Student Success Center as well as the NCDA&CS Agricultural Sciences Center. She thrives on creating spaces that positively affect people’s day to day lives, accommodates their needs, and are aesthetically pleasing.
Xavier received his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting with a concentration in Information Systems from NC State University. He is an avid tennis player and fan as well as a new dog owner. He provides crucial support to our financial team and makes sure we get our expense reports in on time! His favorite aspect of accounting is that there is an infinite amount of information that can be drawn from just numbers.
Human Resources Manager
As Human Resources Manager, Carolyn enjoys working with the diverse staff at HH Architecture to help each individual reach their highest potential. The everchanging and evolving nature of human resources makes each day a new adventure. She is an active member of CAI and the Raleigh Chamber and attends a variety of conferences and events hosted by both organizations. She also coordinates many of HH Architecture’s volunteer efforts with the Ronald McDonald House of Durham and Wake, CASA, Midtown Raleigh Alliance, AIAs, and more. When not in the office, Carolyn can be found running around Disney World or binge-watching something on Disney+.
Heidi received her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design in Architecture with a minor in Art and Design from NC State University’s College of Design. While at NC State, she was a member of the marching band, basketball pep band, and British brass band. Heidi enjoys mentoring her kids in crayon graphic design and lego construction. As our resident “Revit Fairy”, she is interested in finding ways to make our software work hard for us to present not only a great design but great information to our clients.
Holly-Lynn received her Master of Architecture from the University of Memphis. She is involved in the AIA Triangle Emerging Professionals / Young Architects initiative and places importance on mentorship and architectural education. Holly-Lynn’s passion for architecture was born in tradition but grew through her exposure to modern design thinking. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time outside, traveling, cooking, and walking her dog. A fun fact about
Holly-Lynn is that she is a certified yoga instructor!
Paige was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina. She graduated from NC State’s College of Design with a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture and a Bachelor of Architecture. In her spare time, Paige loves to watercolor, cook, and try new foods with her fiancé. She also enjoys traveling and studied abroad in Prague, Czech Republic. Paige is interested in the creative problem-solving and community impact of architecture and is passionate about finding meaningful ways to meet the needs of clients and users through design.
Caroline received her Bachelor’s of Environmental Design in Architecture and her Masters of Architecture from North Carolina State University. She is a graduate of the first class of students to complete the Integrated Path to Architectural Licensure Program (iPAL) at NC State University. In her spare time, she enjoys creative activities such as water coloring, knitting, and woodwork. Caroline has been riding horses since she was young, and was on the Equestrian Dressage Club in college. She decided to pursue architecture after attending Design Camp at NC State where she later became a camp coordinator. Caroline is most interested in design because of the creative problem solving that can make a difference in someone’s life.
Jenessa received her Master of Architecture and her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design from North Dakota State University. She is involved in AIA Triangle, USGBC, volunteering as a mentor for the Raleigh Durham chapter of the ACE Mentorship Program and was accepted into the Raleigh Chamber Emerging Leaders program. Architecture allows her the opportunity to learn about others and find creative design solutions that will meet their needs. She loves designing spaces that have a positive impact on the community and users. When she’s not at work, Jenessa is usually hiking with her dogs, mountain biking, or remodeling her house. A few of Jenessa’s favorite projects that she has worked on at HH Architecture have been the Dueling Dinosaur Exhibit for the NC Museum of Natural Sciences, the Program Building Renovation for the Girl Scouts North Carolina Coastal Pines, and projects at the North Carolina Zoo.
Janae received her Master of Architecture from Hampton University where she studied abroad in Italy. She is actively involved in YAF, AIA, and is a previous participant of the AIA Leadership Forum. She is an active member of the Raleigh Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta working with youth, mentoring young female teens, and as a member of two committees dedicated to community development and fundraising for scholarships for college-bound individuals. Janae is most interested in the user experience aspect of architecture. Many elements of her designs focus on the positive effect they can have on individuals including color, texture, materiality, natural light, biophilia, and building circulation.
Nicholas received his Bachelors of Architecture from Virginia Tech and is licensed for the Practice of Architecture in North Carolina. Throughout his time at HH Architecture, Nick has worked on a wide range of project types in the commercial sector, including higher education, state and municipal office and training facilities, recreation facilities, laboratory design, multifamily housing, and spaces of worship. His project roles have ranged from designer and technical lead to project manager, with focused experience in publicly funded projects, envelope and exterior design, and sustainable practices. Nick has a strong belief in architecture as a professional practice and the role of architects as stewards for design within the broader community.
When he is not hard at work, Nick is actively involved in AIA Triangle, the Building Enclosure Council, and enjoys spending time with friends and family hiking, cooking, and playing soccer and tennis.
Having made a career change later in life, Cocoa is quickly working her way up the ranks of the Barkitecture Studio. She works closely with our design staff and provides a wealth of experience and knowledge.
Cookie is sweet, just like her name! Cookie can be found in the design studio collaborating with the Barkitecture team. Friendly and gentle, Cookie brings happiness to everyone she meets. Outside of the office, Cookie enjoys hiking, car rides, and chasing squirrels!
Bruce brings his excitement and enthusiasm to the Barkitecture Studio each and everyday. Bruce is always up for an adventure, and is never afraid to take risks when it comes to new ideas.
As Barkitectural Intern, Gibson is eager to learn new skills from the design staff. Gibson is kind-hearted and is always around to lend a helping paw.
Cute and curious, Cate is the youngest addition to the Barkitecture team. A perfect day in the office for Cate includes playing with her fellow Barkitects, chatting with office guests, and the occasional nap.
Gypsy is an aspiring Barkitect who not only works hard, but plays hard! She enjoys going on long walks around her neighborhood and making new friends.
