Sanford Agricultural Marketplace

Overview

The new Sanford Agricultural Marketplace will serve as a downtown anchor and community epicenter for celebrating Lee County’s rich agricultural heritage while addressing food insecurity and improving community infrastructure.

The building features a 8,305-SF open-air covered area that will be used as a farmers market and small music event space. A 4,117-SF conditioned space includes a staff office, commercial kitchen, demonstration kitchen, a flex conference/classroom, and storage spaces. Materials throughout the spaces have been repurposed from a previously existing structure to respect the legacy of the site.

The building is envisioned as a new regional hub that initiates the revitalization of Sanford’s eastern downtown while providing increased food access for the Sanford community. The marketplace will sit on the edge of downtown Sanford along the Little Buffalo Creek.
