Randolph County In Design Civic Service Asheboro, NC 104 acre site Back to Projects

Randolph County envisions a place for agritourism, business, and community support with their new agricultural education campus Farm, Food, and Family Education Center (F3EC). The campus includes a Training and Event Center (TEC), a Food and Family Resource Center (FFRC), and an incubator farm.

The Training and Event Center (TEC) is a 45,000-square-foot that includes a 540-person capacity exhibit hall and a 320-person capacity open-air, roofed arena for livestock auctions and other events.

The Food and Family Resource Center (FFRC) is a 28,000-square-foot facility that houses NC cooperative extension offices, county soil and water offices, and meeting and classroom space. The FFRC includes community resources such as an incubator commercial kitchen for small food businesses to rent certified kitchen space for food preparation, as well as a food hub virtually connecting local farmers and consumers with pre-ordering and pick-up services.

The F3EC creates a dynamic, innovative, and collaborative place for learning and skill-building. This campus allows people and organizations to come together, build systems that strengthen economies, enhance resiliency, and build the communities around them.
