The facility houses the College’s mathematics, engineering, and technology focused curriculum with a program that includes maker spaces; a robotics lab; mechanical and electrical engineering labs; a physics lab; a chemistry lab; a two-story lecture hall with 153 seats and 12 ADA seating locations; as well as staff and faculty offices. In addition to the formal learning spaces, the design also incorporates collaboration and study “third places” for student use
between classes, including individual touchdown spaces,
group workspaces, and lounge areas.
Before our team was awarded the full design of this project, we assisted the client with conceptual design to enable JCC to make an informed proposal to the Johnston County School Board and the Superintendent to gain funding for this facility that helps meet the needs of this growing College.
