Overview
As one of Raleigh’s first City-owned senior centers, the Anne Gordon Center is an activity hub for seniors across the region. The facility includes several green features and is certified LEED Gold.
The Five Points Center was designed to mesh with an adjacent historic building. Several design strategies were employed to ensure that the facilities were tailored to the unique requirements of their vibrant clientele. Included in this 20,000-SF center is a commercial kitchen for serving Meals on Wheels patrons, a large multipurpose area, and fitness, art, and game rooms. Features include daylit interior spaces with colors and glass selected to reduce glare and easy to navigate floor plans.
The building achieved LEED Gold certification through the U.S. Green Building Council.
