Curry Building Renovation

UNC Greensboro 2012 Discovery Greensboro, NC 73,877 square feet Back to Projects

Originally built as a high school to support the School of Education in 1926, this historic renovation of UNC Greensboro’s Curry Building accommodates five departments within the College of Arts and Sciences.

Our goal of this renovation was to accentuate the historic character and scale of the building, while accommodating new and existing technology. The project scope included a renovation to the existing auditorium, providing a new plaster ceiling and new lighting. We created a flexible teaching space and opportunities to use the stage for special events or ceremonies. Old vinyl wall covering was removed the original plaster walls were restored. New interior finishes create fresh, flexible spaces for its new users. Overall, the project revived this important campus building and continues to serve UNC Greensboro’s needs.
